Lost Data in DVDpedia

Post by Hermann »

Hi together

On my Mac I have DVDpedia and on my iOS and iPad Pocketpedia. With the last Update on the Mac to 6.2.1 I lost about 100 items in DVDpedia. I didn't sync my iPad, there are still all entries. How can I save the iPad file or can I sync back from iPad to MacBook?

Thank's a lot for your help.

Best regards

Hi and welcome to these forums.

1 - Connect your iPad to your MacBook
2 - Open Pocketpedia on your iPad
3 - Ensure you are in the Collections screen as indicated in the left hand column
4 - Open DVDpedia on your MacBook
5 - On your MacBook hold the Option key click on the Help menu and this will open a hidden menu
6 - Select Pocketpedia (NOT Export for Pocketpedia)
7 - Select Import and following the instructions
8 - Once the Synchronisation and Merging has finished as indicated on your iPad then you can close the function selection panel on your MacBook

This will bring your data base over from your iPad. Be patient as it may take a while. Do not Quit the two apps or turn off your MacBook or iPad.

Let us know how you get on.

Glad to hear all is good again.

Please everyone remember the importance of backups. All the pedia's have an auto backup system as well as a manual backup system. File > Export > Backup.

Of course Apple macOS also has TimeMachine.
