This is a problem with VLC. VLC does not support the unicode string in its AppleScript, switch to using DVD Player and Quicktime; As you mentioned Apple does support unicode and so do their applications. Otherwise if you must use VLC change the name of VLC and DVDpedia should not recognise it and w...

Are these Video_TS links or regular files? No they are .avi files that play fine when opened directly in QT Player or VLC. Somehow the filename seems not to get passed onto VLC when opened from DVDPedia (VLC launches but ends-up with no file to play on its queue. (Other avi files with latin charact...

OK, I figured out the approach but I don't know how to implement it... Ideally, I'd like to stuff this script into the part where DVDPedia launches external fies... Since System\Library\CoreServices\DiskImageMounter.app is not AppleScriptable (to my knowledge), we need an AppleScript that will run s...

To play them consecutively you will have to create a playlist of the files in VLC save the file and then link that file in DVDpedia, that will launch VLC with the playlist all set up. When I link a playlist to a movie, it doesn't seem to associate it as a movie file. I've set the playlist (m3u) ext...

AppleScript to automount an ISO image?
I prefer DVDPlayer over VLC when playing backed-up DVDs. (I think it's more efficient; ie. does a better job on my G4 mac mini.) But I like keeping my DVDs in ISO images over the raw VIDEO_TS files... Could someone help me out with an AppleScript to: 1. Automount the ISO image 2. Inject this code in...

Ooooh. That fireball example just blows. Thanks for the great software. I think for me, just displaying more DVDs on the screen and a smoother animation effect will be just fine. (At least rival Front Row) I do like the context genre suggestion feature described by TonyH. Very Mac. I know, from desi...

Can't Seem to Launch .avi Files
I'm in the process of evaluating DVDPedia (& Remote Buddy)... I'm trying to launch avi (and divx) files from the Full Screen mode by adding links to the Advanced Info section. When I select PLAY from the Full Screen mode, I get mixed success. 1. When Quicktime Player (with Perian) is open the fi...
