Book field in Bookpedia?
Start creating a Smart List. In the Field Name popup, there's one called Book. I don't see it in the list of fields in the Fields Preferences pane.

Smart list match for cover images
There appears to be no way to match a record that does, or does not, have a cover image.

Re: Sorting bug in Bookpedia
I think you will find that series might not actually be empty for "Alight in the Void" it might contain a single space character. It's easy to check for fields with space characters: go to Preferences->Auto Fill and do a Rebuild on the field. If there is a record containing said field fil...

Sorting bug in Bookpedia
Have 3 columns in your view of the books: Title, Author, Series. Select each of them for sorting, in that order. Author must be sorted by last name (option-click, I believe) rather than first character. Have these 3 books in your view: Author: Poul Anderson Title: Alight in the Void Series: <empty> ...

Re: Display sorting rules
I'm thinking that if this option is enabled, the grab bar at the top of the Info pane (the one that shows when you type Apple-I) gets extra-thick, about the height of one of the rows displaying an item, and contains text reading something like this: "Sort Order: Title > Author > Series # > Seri...

Display sorting rules
A Pedia will highlight the last selected sorting column in blue, but if sorting multiple columns it will not tell me what columns are being used and their order. That would be nice to know, especially for figuring out why a sort isn't right, or replicating it.

What do folders actually do?
The documentation mentions them, but gives no examples of how they work or how they are envisioned to be used. For example, what distinguishes a folder from a collection or smart list?

Delete items from smart lists
If I am viewing an item in a smart list, and try to delete it, nothing happens but a nasty noise telling me I can't. I must navigate to the library and click the item again (because moving to the library lost focus on the item). Requiring these extra mouse clicks seems unnecessary. Why not pop up a ...

More advanced smart lists
You can do (X AND Y AND Z) or (X OR Y OR Z) in the Pedias, but you can't do ((X OR Y) AND Z) or (X OR (Y AND Z)) or ((W AND X) OR (Y AND Z)). REGEX matching. Simplify smart list tests by having a single logical not operator and many tests i.e. rather than have is, is not, contains, does not contain,...

Re: Buggy interaction between Bookpedia and Spaces
If you have the possibility could you please send me a screen capture. Since there most be some other variable. I tried it as you described and the edits are waiting in Bookpedia to be saved when returning Further testing shows there is another variable. Do this: make sure the Space containing Book...

Re: Amazon doesn't return results
The timestamp is GMT (Greenwich Meridian Time), but the way the Mac works it deduces the GMT time from your current time and time zone settings. I hope it doesn't work that way, because that's not historically how Unix works. Unix keeps all times in GMT and deduces local time from your time zone se...

Leading spaces in Find window can botch searches
Start Bookpedia, begin find (Apple-F) Bug #1: 1) Search for an ISBN-10 with dashes in it (like 0-441-20664-6). Make sure there are one or more, but not exactly two, leading spaces in front of it. 2) Observe this error: There are no matches for " 0-441-20664-6". 3) If you remove the dashes ...

1) Edit (Apple-E) any record 2) Make any edits you like to that record, but do not save them, leaving the edit window open 3) Switch to another virtual screen with Spaces 4) Switch back to your original Space 5) Observe that all your edits have disappeared This of course does not occur when switchin...
