Re: Paperclip in the "Status" column

Yep, that was it ... although it was in Bookpedia <grin>. Thanks for the information. Take care.

Paperclip in the "Status" column

Howdy. Dead simple question please. In the status column, where a star indicates wanted and a red head/profile indicates borrowed ... what does a paperclip indicate?? And how did I get it there <grin>. Thanks.

Howdy. Background for request: Often times 12 months after the release of a new hardback book, when the first paperback edition is released you can buy a first edition hardback for less than the paperback as stores clear inventory. I often add a new book to my collection in my wish list intending to...

Amazon widget

I have the widget checked under the help menu. How do I use it to open and search amazon then automatically add a book? The amazon button on the menu just opens amazon in safari and I can't add a book from it??? It's probably simple but I can't figure it out!

Thanks ... bruce

Re: Barcode scanners and cameras that work well with the Pedias

Howdy. You list the Microvision Flic as working well. But they seem to have replaced the Flic with the ROV? Is that still a good choice? Many thanks ... y'all have a good weekend.

A post over on MacNN

http://forums.macnn.com/106/delicious-m ... pressions/

It speaks highly of the pedias ... I was going to chime in but it didn't really need one more "I agree the pedias are excellent ..."

Y'all take care.

Re: dot.mac backups

I used dot.mac for a while. Not very satisfactory ... very slow, had to be very careful that I had the most recent version from each computer. Had to "hit" synchronize several times occasionally to get it to work. I abandoned it after a a little while ...FWIW. Neat idea ... poorly implemen...

 yes, microvision ... it's that spelling thing again

OFF TOPIC! car milage/maintenance programs

Wanted to quiz this group of Mac users about availability of Mac applications ... hope that's ok. Anyone provide a link to a application that you can log vehicle gas and maintenance information. Have it calculate milage, maybe graph it? reminders of maintenance? for multiple vehicles? I haven't been...

Time machine and external hard drives ...

Howdy. Just to pass on something I learned ... slowly. If you want to have Time Machine backup an external hard drive it will have to be formatted as Mac OS as it will not be "selectable" if it is a FAT32 format. This was not at all clear to me as I was trying to make sure my pedia databas...

files, location question please

Howdy. I am keeping my pedia databases (cd, dvd, book) on an external USB drive so I can have them available (assuming I remember the USB drive  ) on both computers, work and home. So far this is working fine. I do see on the computer user/Library/Application Support a new set of pedia files ....

Multiple entries into lookup at once?

Howdy. As another poster pined ... my satellite access is undependable and expensive! I may quit it to avoid the expense and frustration. I can use my work internet access after work hours no problem. Is there a way I can enter ISBN numbers (at home) for later lookup, i.e., have bookpedia store seve...
