Re: Find/Replace

For replacing in the new multi value fields instead of adding to them, you would need to check the genre box and leave it blank to empty the field then edit again to add the new value. Does this apply to modifying other fields for multiple entries, too? For example, if I want to add new tags to the...

Re: "complete collection" feature in Bookpedia

When you include the wish list in your library (select the wish list and choose 'Include in library' from the File menu) then all the entries in it will be visible in your regular library and collections but the entries will be marked with a yellow star in the Status column. After doing that, presu...

Re: Sync between different computers

Not sure if it'll work with iDisk, but you can click the purple-circled '?' in the bottom-right corner of the General tab in Preferences to display the Moving the database Help page. Wherever it's stored, you'd definitely only want to access it with one instance of DVDpedia running at a time since i...

Re: iTunes backup of PocketPedia hours long

If possible (maybe with iPhone 3.0?), I'd like an option to completely disable Pocketpedia backups during iTunes synching. Even if a future version of Pocketpedia has bi-directional synching with desktop 'pedia apps the latter will always have a master database that can be fully restored to mobile d...

Re: Help Customizing dfProHTML Export Template?

I don't remember explicitly discussing that bug but am glad to know it's fixed, whether or not it was the cause of my particular problem. Still hoping for an answer to this:

Should folders only contain collections, never individual entries?

Thanks!

Re: IMDB full cast

Resizing the Collections style (at least) doesn't change any field widths, even with a full Zoom (by clicking the green titlebar gumdrop; Window > Zoom is missing in the menu). The Tiger, TigerImage, and TigerPastel styles also truncate field names; I couldn't find any others that do. None of the st...

Re: IMDB full cast

I think it's new in this beta that the "Picture Format" field name is truncated with the "Collection" Info View Style:

entries vs. collections in folders?

It's happened several times and I can probably make it happen again. Should folders only contain collections, never individual entries? I first noticed and reported the latter in my post with the screen capture example.

Re: Help Customizing dfProHTML Export Template?

Guess I don't know what you mean by "freeform custom field," as opposed to a regular custom field. Same difference. Freeform meant any descriptive text, in contrast to a more strictly defined subset like Tags would be. I'm heavily leaning to the former because blurbs can usually sufficien...

Re: New potential user

Selecting a title (in Safari and most other Cocoa apps) and using the Pedia > Search Selection With DVDpedia service (assigned to a keyboard shortcut) might be helpful in some situations.

Re: New potential user

Since manually entered the barcode searches don't work for you it seems to be an EAN lookup issue like Conor mentioned. If that could be fixed then iSight scanning should also work.

Re: Help Customizing dfProHTML Export Template?

Ha, I just started keeping track of DVDs I've bought and didn't keep. Trying to avoid buying something again out of forgetfulness... A few years ago I had the sudden urge to see a Christopher Walken movie so I out and rented one, not immediately realizing I'd already rented/watched it a few years e...

Re: New potential user

One more thought …

In the Search Web dialog, make sure the "Limit to" menu is None. If it's set to Title, for example, then barcode searches won't match.

Re: Help Customizing dfProHTML Export Template?

Love that film! Whenever someone asks me to recommend a movie they probably haven't seen, it's one of my "go to" recommendations. It had been on my wish list for at least ten years before I finally got to see it. the movies that have a "0" rating, I simply haven't taken the time...
