Re: DVDpedia: Update Single Field - and from single source

And that's why sometimes you need that finer control - because just arbitrarily filling in all (previously empty) fields from a source is not necessarily a good thing! Finer granularity of field control would be cool but I'm still not anticipating it any time soon, if ever, especially after it didn...

Re: DVDpedia: Move Field Data to Another Field

I'm not sure it would be worthwhile enough to implement a new command for this instead of using Cut (or Copy) and Paste between fields in the Edit window.

Re: DVDpedia: Movie Source Linking Verification

One of the things with the Add Movie search results is that it lists several records as search results, but you don't really have an weary way to determine which result you want to pick. Thought I'd posted a comparison example of how DVD Hunter handles multiple search results, which I remember as m...

Re: DVDpedia: Update Single Field - and from single source

Welcome, joel! It would be really nice if you could grab a record - or group of records - and then tell DVDpedia to update a specific field (or selected fields) for the current selection (such as cover, or writer, etc). What I do is select multiple entries, invoke Movie > Edit… (Command-E), clear fi...

Take your time, like I am putting together a list of suggestions. :)

Re: view counter

We've added a secret preference to let you disable it if you're not interested in having the program do it for you. That's perfect - thanks! I'd considered suggesting making it a hidden preference (un)settable with the defaults … command. :) Untested, since I'm still running 5.0.1 instead of jumpin...

Re: Problem synchronizing my ipod or ipad

FYI, carpanta:

Text of your long log messages is now wrapped with BBCode [code]…[/code] tags so it's much easier for readers to see the other non-log text in this topic without massive amounts of scrolling. :)

Re: Newbie Q1 Changing info

I recently used a combination of both methods, deleting/updating individual fields and deleting/recreating full entries, during database housekeeping after upgrading to v5. I've finally cleaned up the most undesirable mix of Amazon and IMDb data but there's still room for improvement.

Re: Newbie Q1 Changing info

I actually found that deleting the entry (after copying the link) and starting again works. Seems easier than deleting individual fields. And deleting individual fields from, then updating, batches of selected entries surely would be easier/quicker than individually deleting/recreating each of thos...

Re: pixel heigh definition criteria

Utilizing MedaiInfo for that digging could probably be the easiest, most obvious choice. this program is for windows only, anyway through this i can add the pixel heigh informations to my files? There are GUI and CLI versions for OS X . Ye i think ive understood what sjk wrote, but so, we cant do a...

Re: pixel heigh definition criteria

Apart from the IMDb options for some special fields (Cinematographer, Composer, Metacritic and soon Color) these are the only other options at the moment. They'll be included in the Help file for the next official release. I remember Episode Name being added as a special custom field when support f...

Re: view counter

Yes, clicking on a link or the links button or using the menu command all trigger the same behaviour. That's why it only adds a 'view' once a day, just in case. Might you consider making this new date/count auto-update triggering behaviour optional? Specifically, I'd prefer to at least continue upd...

Re: pixel heigh definition criteria

If the pixel info isn't displayed in the Finder it's not part of the file unfortunately (as far as I know). I've never noticed kMDItemPixelHeight, kMDItemPixelWidth metadata (displayed as Dimensions under Finder > Get Info / More Info), and other related metadata set for video media in MKV containe...

Re: pixel heigh definition criteria

Not something we considered before but thanks for the idea. In the next version you can name two custom fields "Video Height" and "Video Width" and the program will add the information to the fields when you import a movie. Is there a list of custom fields that DVDpedia treats s...

Re: view counter

The Last Seen and View count will be automatically updated when you click on the movie link or use the play button. To be clear, are the Last Seen and Last Seen History dates being auto-updated? Is this also applicable when selecting Movie > View Links? One issue I'd have with those dates and play ...
