I would go with Nora's solution and have a second excluded collection of books read from the library. When you want to look at the smart collection mixed you can select the excluded collection and tell it to include it in the library, do all the browsing/editing/export in the smart collection of boo...

I would suggest modifying the XML database directly, but as you pointed out in your case of adding data from other programs this can be quite a lot of work. What you can do in such a specific case is take advantage of the fact that the internal number for marking movies starts at 1. Do a .dvdpedia e...

The only fields that are treated differently are the date fields. They need to be a date. So steer away from using those fields unless your going to use them for a date. These fields are borrowed on, purchased on, date added, last seen, release and theatrical release. The number fields are regular f...

They are safe to be deleted at any time. They contain cache for the look-up information performed when searching for a movie online. Apple by default creates these caches for our program, so that searches are faster. For example it doesn't need to download the cover for Cars, if you first search for...

("p" in fullscreen, command-p in normal view) You are correct it should be option-p in both cases. I will fix the fullscreen mode shortcut for the next release so that option-p also launches the movie. <!--IFMedia<div class="field"><div class="title">[Translate:Media]:...

What I would do to solve the problem right away is write the template with a place holder for any ", such as MY_QUOTE. Then after the export do two search and replace operations, one for " to &quote and one for MY_QUOTE to ". If the export is not often then you can do this with BB...

Thanks for the detailed post. It something we hope to make possible when we improve the export command. In the meantime you will need two extra step, use command-shift-N to create a new collection with selection and then export that. The second extra step is hitting the delete key to remove the coll...

May I suggest the "last read" field. You can then sort books in your read collection by the last read field. So after selecting the book and before dragging it to your read collection use the command-shift-T shortcut to mark it as read today. There is no need to even open the edit window. ...

May I suggest one of the custom fields to use as a read field. You can type "read" into that field to indicate that you have read it or "want to read", "plan to read", "do not read" ... Also collections are useful for this, you can create a need to read collec...

1) Go into the programs content with ctrl-click on DVDpedia.app and show package contents. Navigate to Contents/WebViewFiles/en/mint.html and open it in any text editor and add: "<a href="pedia://bruji.com/perform=editEntry">Edit</a>". I would suggest to add it where the ADD_HERE...

Thank you for the suggestion, it's one that is on our radar. Since multiple genres is not possible at the moment you can add them all in the same field but it gets a little crowded. You could use one of the custom fields as secondary genres, so that you can sort by both main genre and secondary genre.

The two programs discount only applies at the time of purchase; unfortunately you have already upgraded to BP, you could have bought DVDpedia then with the discount.

Sounds interesting. The contest is now closed but we might take a stab at it, since we can't win anyway. Maybe a user with HTML experience is interested in giving it a try. We got some neat entries from the contest, so look for the winners on our extras page by the end of next week.
