Thanks for the suggestion, it's something we would like to do. The program checks the modification date on the database before writing to it and reloads it if necessary. I personally have only tested concurrent access on a shared hard drive. iDisk works through WebDAV and looks like a hard drive to ...

You can even drag the images straight from the results page in Amazon, as they also contain the link that has an Asin in them.

It was a usage interface decision. We are hoping Amazon will make posting books and managing sales part of their web services so that we can better integrate it with the programs. However while we wait for that feature we added the sales tracking information to Bookpedia as it's a common usage of Bo...

For the author search you need to add the ampersand at the beginning so the program knows to not read author as a keyword. So it would look like this "&Author=Stephen King" or "&Author=Koontz" without the quotes. It's true that not all barcodes can turn into ISBNs. There ...

Hi Mike, The email comes from the "me" entry in your Address Book; what you want to do is hard code the email into the template. Go to ~/Library/Application Support/DVDpedia/Templates/SilverMail.html and open it with any text editor. look for "[Global:MyEmail]" and replace it wit...

Hi John, There is a send selection to iWeb command under the file menu. iWeb is a bit limited in what it will accept at the moment. But it does create a nice photo page with the covers and titles. Hopefully with the next iLife update or Leopard adding a formatted details page for each entry will be ...

The trick to getting around the 1000 note limit is to group your books and DVDs. for example one note for each Genre, or Author, or titles but listed separated alphabetically or any other column sorted that makes sense for you. Any of the sorted or alphabetically will work for this. if you create yo...

If you want to add many credits you can add them to the credits list as well. You can list their role under role. This means they will show up nicely in the credits info view style, as they are listed with the rest of the actors and can be searched under credits as well.

I wouldn't say quicker, but everything is relative. I am a fast typist and have no problems looking at ISBNs and typing them up for the search. (An ISBN is all that is required.) Also the advantages of using keywords comes in handy because I can read titles and authors from afar without having to ta...

Thanks for the feature request. Remember in the meantime you can filter your library by this type of information in the search field, and you can limit the search to just credits by using the magnifying glass.

Thanks for pointing that out. Bookpedia does handle the dashes automatically. The problem here is the search is done by Spotlight, Bookpedia is never involved; Spotlight matches the ISBN field number. What I will have to do is also store the ISBN number with dashes in the Spotlight index so that it ...
