Unfortunately the first server that you mentioned does not support USMarc, Marc XML, or Marc21. However the second list has one supporting UKMarc the input into Bookpedia is: Biblioteca Francisco Pereira de Moura 193.136.163.70:210/INNOPAC USMarc Latin1 The encoding, if not stated by your library, t...

Hi Jev, Thanks for the post. Most of the things you mentioned are on our radar to add or improve already. When doing an update/getting more info for a movie, delete any fields that you want updated. For example some users prefer the viewer rating from the plug-ins over Amazon so they remove the view...

I tried out the information from the web page you sent, straight on the z39.50 interface skipping Bookpedia all together in my terminal window. And I get no results from the server. There must be a configuration I am missing, you will need to get help from the library who runs the server on how to c...

Well if you are looking to write about book cataloging; don't forget to take a look at Books. The new version 3.0 is shaping up well, you will see they have learned a lot from Bookpedia. :) The developer also downloaded the iSight scanning code from the pedias that is open source , but I don't know ...

Due to the large number of switchers I have integrated a direct import of the Delicious Library XML into Bookpedia (DVDpedia, CDpedia and Gamepedia as well). John Siracusa is friends with Will Shipley hence the review and the constant mention of Library on Arstechnica. Mr. Shipley has done a great j...

There is no automatic way to tell at the moment what collection a book belongs to. You can use one of the custom fields to label them with the collection. As long as books are not in multiple collections you can use the multi-edit function with select all to do it quickly.

We are creating a web page on translating the pedias. Give us a few days and will have all the files you need. The type.strings file changed names in 3.0 to MainTranslation.strings, it's a better name to make it obvious. The Property List Editor program comes on your OS X CD under the developer tool...

You can create a text file for the lyrics and link it to the entry. We are planning on making text file creation easier for notes and lyrics and such in the future but at the moment you have to create the file in the finder and then drag it over the links table or the info view to link it. The good ...

Another option is to start a clean copy on your laptop and once you have added the books do a .bookpedia export of the collection. You can then pass this file to the tower and simply double click it to import all the books. The import is added as a new collection that is separate from the library (g...

We want to do automator, but are still thinking about the basic blocks that people would need. What Nora mean by not being alphabetical I think is, that the list can't be sorted: a d b e c f but: a b c d e f The way CSS works you can create little blocks of "Author Title" and make them hal...

ISBN are 10 digit code that represent language, category, manufacturer, and book numbers for that manufacturer in that order. The amount of digits that each represents is variable, except for the language that is the first digit. ASIN are just Amazon generated numbers that they tag their products wi...

Hi Rick, Download Bookpedia again and the example you pointed to will work. I had over estimated the minimum number that an ISBN would be, and hence the search was being done as a regular keyword. (Amazon doesn't match their own ASIN during regular keyword search, the query has to explicitly say ASI...

We wanted to step back from using .ipod as who knows what Apple will want to do with that extension in the future. As you found out it will still recognize .ipod but the new format is to add -iPod to the template name for example SortedAuthor-iPod.txt. That way leaving the extension .txt for editing...
