Unfortunately almost every game site we know of has something like the following in it's user agreement (this one is taken from ING): E. Limits on Use of the Services. You agree not engage in any of the following: (i) use any automated means, including, without limitation, agents, robots, scripts, o...

At the moment the statistics are fixed. But maybe we'll change that in the future. Thanks for the idea. (And if you have any ideas for new and interesting stats, let us know!)

I hadn't read this post before so if you did put it up before, it must have gotten lost somehow... In any case, to answer your questions: there is no description of the iPod templates anywhere but if you want to know what each one displays without actually having to do the export, you can just open ...

You can see a full list of the HTML tags in the Gamepedia Help file. Just put 'Templates' in the Help search and you'll get directed to the correct page. (I just realized that the Import/Export page isn't connected correctly so the search field is the ONLY way to get to that page at the moment.. Oop...

Bruji.com server down Jan 15th, 2006

Some of you might have noticed that our server was down for part of yesterday, January 15th. But things are back to normal now thanks to our excellent hosts at site5. Sorry for any inconveniences. (The backup should have worked fine but if any posts did get lost because of the downtime, please just ...

With as many entries as you have, certain features will get slower, yes. However, the internet search should be the same speed - that doesn't have anything to do with the size of the database. Rebuilding the database on a regular basis is a good idea, not just for speed reasons but also to get an au...

DVDpedia 2.3 plug-in fixes

Hi everyone, there are several posts already floating around, letting people know that the various plug-ins that broke over the past few weeks have been fixed. But I thought I'd put up a general post to let everyone know: the dvdpalace.de, dvd.it and IMDb plug-ins are all fixed and bundled with DVDp...

DVDpedia can try and update the entries via Amazon, yes. For this it will use the Titel and Director field and guess at the result. You'll get a list of possible results in the little drawer on the side of the Add/Edit window from which you can choose the correct one. If you choose one and then real...

Ooliganpress

Portland State University has a very cool graduate program for book publishing where students run a fully functional publishing house: Ooliganpress. And according to their 'Tools of the trade' they use Bookpedia.. :) Go Vikings!

Maybe we can write a plug-in for that. We'll have to figure out a way around the sign-in process but we can try. (At the moment we're knee-deep in the universal binary translation though and the plug-in list is already long so this might take a while...)

I'd suggest using a different method of backup. The .bookpedia file format is useful for emailing smaller files to friends or for exporting collections in XML format but to make a backup it would be better - and a lot faster/easier - to just make a copy of the Bookpedia data folder. That way you hav...

As mentioned in an earlier post, I've tried parsing the bol pages at one point and found them to be difficult. But I'll try again and see what I can do.
