Re: The Mac Observer has a new Bookpedia review

The Mac Observer has just put up a review of Bookpedia. It's a favorable one. A few of the commenters have expressed curiosity about how how it compares to Delicious Library's feature set. Maybe some Pedia users who have prior experience with DL would want to contribute to the discussion over there...

Update

After Conor posted his reply to the "Chief Monster," I posted my take on Delicious Library vs the 'pedias, based on about 5-6 hours of direct comparisons, using the demo version of Delicious Library. Use the link above to get to the review and comments and go down to the long message from ...

iTunes CD Info Plug-In -- Where did it go?

On your Extras page, there is a link for "iTunes CD Info" plug-in. I had CDpedia download and install it, but I can't find the command. It's supposed to be a menu plug-in, but I can't find it in a menu. Perhaps I just don't know where to look.

Thanks.

My 2-cents worth

I posted a reply to a review of Delicious Library on The Mac Observer, pointing out some of the 'pedias advantages.

Re: Help, isight screen is black

When I push the button in DVDpedia to scan in my DVDs using my isight, the resulting isgiht screen is black. I'm positive it's not a light issue. What can I do? Is the iSight on? (Turn the front of it so that the white iris disappears.) I know that sounds stupid, but it has been the problem for som...

Re: Scanning books with the iSight

A discovery I made after downloading Bookpedia: the scanning function is awful compared to that of Delicious Library. With Delicious Library you can basically wave the book in front of the camera, while with Bookpedia you have to adjust the distance, get the barcode exactly centered and not slanted...

Save your 'pedia database on a PDA

There are other options that work well--in fact, I do this often. For the Mac, you'll need to get Documents to Go (DTG), unless it came with your PDA. DTG can convert text and rich text files to a format that can be read and edited on the PDA. It can also handle AppleWorks and MS Office word process...

Re: Using iSight with Bookpedia

When I try to add a book manually and click in the isight button, Bookpedia does not detect the camera. The message is to make sure the firewire camera is connected to my computer which it is. I'm not the developer, but have used the 'pedias a lot. When you choose to add a book manually (shift-comm...
