Date field

I read all the posts related to the published date field and i assume there's no way to display the date differently from one entry to another. Am i correct?

If it's the case, it's a huge problem for me as i catalogue books and other types of documents. I would need to be able to display only the year for books (%Y), but the month and year (%B %Y) for institutional documentation and the full date (%d %B %Y) for court decisions.

I noticed that in Booxter you can decide on an entry by entry basis whether you want to display the year, year+month or year+month+day. Isn't possible to do the same in Bookpedia? Is there a way to do it without having to rework the code?

You're correct, date formats are set by field (in the Preferences/General) and cannot be chosen according to entry. At this point we don't have any plans to change this but thanks for the feedback.
