Buying Gamepedia as an app versus the download

I've been configuring the demo download and was about to buy when I saw it mentioned that it's on the Mac App Store, too. If I get it from the Mac App Store, will I lose my configuration changes and the first 25 games I entered?

Your data won't be lost if you should decide to switch to the App Store version. The data is kept separately from the application so deleting the program does not affect your info entered. Your game data is in your home folder at ~/Library/Application Support/Gamepedia, while Gamepedia should be in /Applications and can be updated or exchanged for the Mac App Store version.
