serial number required

Hi there,
for those who acquired the pedias from the app store, can we get a serial number? Since the pedias are no longer in the app store, we have to rely on direct downloads or betas. Would they be operable without serial number?
For me, loss of Pocketpedia would be unfortunate, but loss of the Mac Pedias would be a real blackout. There is no suitable successor to be seen. (Delicious Library is gone, too.)
Except fo that, I can quite understand Connor. Due to the pricing models in effect when the pedias started, work was probably not too rewarding. Maybe the pedias could be revived by a new pricing model?
