HTML export with automatic sections.

Post by crazyfatrobot »

I'm new to DVDpedia so if this already exists I apologize. 8)

I have my dvd's sorted into different Collections by genre - like comedy, crime, sci-fi etc. Is there a way to export an HTML site that auto generates pages and links for all the different sections... so there will be pages for each genre Collection with a menu bar of links on each page?

Also, if a preference could be added to the HTML export pane where you could choose which shelves you want to be included.

I have defected from Delicious Library, the one new feature of the 2.0 beta I did like was the HTML export that did what I describe above automatically.

Glad to have another switcher.

Sort your collection by the column that you would like to create the index by (in this case genre). Then when exporting choose the "alphabetical by word" option. This will create an index that reads "Comedy | Crime | ..." (The templates "Covers", "Showtime" and "White" don't have an index as it doesn't make sense in that layout. But I will be adding one to "White" and "Covers" in case the user selects that option).

Thank you for the feedback on creating an option during export for selecting the collections to be included. In the meantime use create an intrim collection where you add the movies you would like to export with drag and drop. You can even base exports on a smart collection, such as movies added since the last export date.
