Please consider adding one or more custom graphic fields where users can store images other than the primary front-cover image -- e. g., back cover, author's portrait, alternate front cover, any random illustration or page.

Or if there's already a way to do this, please let me know.

Thanks for the suggestion, it's something we might add in the future. For now, you can link any file, including images, to an entry by dragging it over the details view. Depending on the details template you've selected, a link will appear for the file so you can open it with one click. (Otherwise the Links button in the toolbar will do the same.) If you'd like to keep things together you can move the linked file into the Bookpedia data folder by selecting it in the Edit panel > Links tab and clicking the 'Move' button.
