Problems with äöü

I had this problem with an older version of your programm. Now I want to add some books e.g. "Ausgelöscht" - with error from amazon. "Ausgeloescht" works. Please have a look at - Thanks

Which version of Bookpedia do you have? Searching for "ausgelöscht" on Amazon DE seems to work fine for me (with or without the title limiter set). What kind of error are you getting?

This is an issue with the older version search encoding, you need to upgrade to the latest version for the fix.

Hello - I have version 4.6.1 . I searched exactly for 'McFadyen, Cody - Ausgelöscht' and got the error 'Es wurde kein resultat für .. gefunden'. I changed ö to oe and the book was found at once! I also had this error in an earlyer version. It happens some times with other books, but I thought myself writing something wrong but this was not the fault.
PS Serched again for McFadyen, Cody - Der Todeskünstler - same result as before...

That is very strange indeed. When I put in your exact search string here (McFadyen, Cody - Ausgelöscht) and use Amazon DE without any limiters set I get an instant, correct result. Could you have a look at your console log, see if there are any messages from Bookpedia? You can access the console log via the application 'Console', located inside your Applications/Utilities. The newer messages are towards the end of the log.

Sorry I am confused - The examples i wrote, now work but this does not work: Raumschiff Des Mächtigen - with ae it works.

Thank you for the console log. There is definitely an exception that should not be happening, but I am unable to repeat it on my system. I get 3 search results for "Raumschiff Des Mächtigen" un Amazon DE. Could you please download Bookpedia beta and when you are able to repeat the error in the console, please send us that new print out that will include a bit more information (it will not have the ??? and it will tell us exactly what function we should check). Thank you.

I downloaded your beta. No error occurs till now. I downloaded also your standard version of the program and I noticed this has the date 05/28 and my version has the date 05/23. The size is the same. I noticed also that my file was read only. Do you think that the errors are the result of this? My file was downloaded with the update function of your program.

P.S. Now I wanted add Vargas, Fred - Die schöne Diva von Saint-Jacques - same again. The result Not found.. comes at one - no delay no really search. No error log from today...

Thank you for the detailed information, I fixed the error that was giving no results for searches with a "!" and a copy error. Please download Bookpedia beta 35 again and if you run into any other problems let me know. I know the exclamation problem was unrelated to the other "Vargas, Fred - Die schöne Diva von Saint-Jacques" failed search but could be the exception was causing irregular behavior. Thank you for helping me fix two bugs.
