iPod export bug - DVDPedia

Post by Ted »

I did an export using the SortedTitle.ipod template and there is a gap in the resulting list between mid - M and mid - S -- propably a couple of hundred titles didn't make it to the iPod.

Nothing indicated any kind of problem while I was doing the export.

Thank you,
Ted

The iPod has a hard limit of 1000 notes. You have more than a 1000 DVDs the iPod omits the middle section. The solution to this is to use an export that list the movies on a single note, for example the alphabetical export that will list all movies with 'A' on one note and so on, hence you will only have 26 notes. (Here be careful how much information you list per movie, do not include the summary, as a single note has a 4k data limit.) If you feel you need to get around these limitations there is software out there for the iPod that deals with these limitations. They are produced for ebooks and longer buisness notes in mind but can apply to a DVD collection export as well, look up 'notes' and 'iPod' at versiontracker.com
