new search engine req: chaos.com.au

Post by MisterMagee »

Hi,

I'd like to draw your attention to another possible site for searching, http://www.chaos.com.au/. They have cds, dvds, games and books - sound familiar?

I'm not sure they provide a good interface for searching like amazon, but I suspect they're bigger that eazydvd.com.au, which is currently in dvdpedia's search list.

I know there is documentation that could allow me to do it and share with the community, but it's a bit over my head!

Thanks for suggesting that site. It looks like they don't have an option to search using barcodes though, a feature that a lot of users are looking for. Right now we're planning to write a plug-in for http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/ because so far that's the only Australian site we heard of that includes barcode searches.

Ah, I didn't realise that. JB are a very big retailer in Australia, but have been relatively slow to embrace online trade. I see they've recently made some progress though. They might not have a catalogue as extensive as chaos but I expect that will improve. Any additional Australian engine is a good move.

Barcodes would solve that pesky dvd region 4 problem!

If you know of any other R4 sites that support barcode searching, do let us know.
